6 weeks today!

Jackson had his checkup last week and he was 11 lbs 1 oz and 23 inches long.
He was in the 90th percentile for both and growing so fast!

Jackson had a busy 2 weeks, but his most favorite thing would be his trip to the lake. The water was still pretty cold but he stuck his feet in anyway :)

He is adorable in his swimsuit - it's a little big but he was born to be a swimmer so needed one right away!

1 Month Old!

Jackson is 1 month old today! These past 4 weeks have gone by so fast but have been wonderful. Jack is changing everyday and we love his smiles (even if they are unintentional right now).

Jackson Robert has arrived!!

Jackson was born on Thursday, April 16th at 8:50pm. After 12 hours of labor and a last minute C-section, our beautiful baby boy was born weighing 8lbs 11oz and 20.08 inches long.

We made it through our first week and I just now got a few spare minutes to update the blog - I am just hoping to finish before Jackson realizes ;) Below are pics from his first week including his first bath which was an experience!

Although a little exhausting, Ryan and I are adjusting and having Jackson here is wonderful! I will try to update the blog as often as I can so check back for more as the weeks go by.

The Nursery is Finished!

Ok, I promise the blog will get more interesting when we get some baby pics, but for now we are still in count down mode and a few people asked to see new pics of the nursery which is finally done so here you go. The only thing missing is the signed frame we got from our shower that will go above the changing table.

Our New Front Yard!

Ryan did a wonderful job on our front yard over the last few weekends with a lot of help from his Dad! I wasn't able to help much other than picking out plants I liked ;) Here are some before and after pictures...

I know it's kind of hard to see all the details so I'll try my best to explain what we put in - keep in mind I know NOTHING about plants :)

We added 3 boulders - 2 on the left and 1 on the right. We added a juniper on each side of the door that will grow taller. There are white and pink calladiums or elephant ears in a bunch on both sides and a purple shrub with long thin leaves on each side as well. We used a lot of dusty miller or the "silver-green" plants to contrast all the trees and purple shrubs and filled in with some Yew or green shrubs that have very thin leaves, almost like thick needles instead. Finally, to finish it off, we used black mulch for major contrast. It looks great and I am so proud of Ryan!
