5 Months Today!

Happy Birthday Jackson!

Jack is all smiles today (like most days) - of course I couldn't snap any of them fast enough with my phone but wanted to get some pics up for his b-day.

Jackson's New Skills

Jack is getting so close to sitting and crawling, we can't believe it!

Here he is up on all fours ready to go - he scoots across the floor determined to get somewhere :)

He's sitting!! Don't be fooled, it's only for 5-10 seconds at a time but he's getting there

We were just being silly...

Jackson LOVES his Daddy!!
Auntie Brenda got Jack this adorable bodysuit for his Aggie game days... it has a football player on the front :)

Jack and Tripper are both wondering why we are making them pose together...

and again... Tripper loves his Baby Jack - he is always there protecting him

4 Month Checkup

I took Jackson to his 4 month checkup today and the doctor said he was doing great! I will brag a little bit and say that she was not only impressed with his skills but told us that he was doing what 6 month olds are doing!! He kept rolling over for her to show off and scooted all the way across the table. He was smiling and happy UNTIL the shots :( Two shots (1 in each leg) and Jack started to cry... and then Mommy started to cry. Ryan laughed at me when I called to tell him but I can't help it! I just hate to see my little man in pain. I tear up just thinking about it now!

He is 26 1/4 in long (75th perentile) and 15lbs 7oz (60th percentile).
It looks like all the 9month fall clothes I bought him might be too small before it even gets cold!!! That'll teach me to wash new clothes before it's time to wear them!

3 Days with Gransie

While I was in NYC for Market, Gransie offered to take care of Jackson instead of taking him to daycare and they had a great time! He showed Gransie how he can roll over from his back to his tummy lots of times, scoot forward on his tummy, love on his monkey, play with his toys and really let her know when he was ready for a bottle! Jack took his naps in the same crib his daddy, Aunt Megan and Uncle Kevin used. The highlight of the visit was the last day when Gransie got brave enough to take him out for a couple of errands; a drive through the atm and a visit to the library where he promptly left his mark in front of the current collection by spitting up all over both of them and the floor! Thank goodness no one was looking; they made a quick escape to the checkout desk and then out the door. Gransie missed him lots
after he left and she said Jackson can come stay with her anytime Mommy goes out of town!

Happy Birthday Jackson!

Our Baby Boy is 4 months old today and it has gone by so fast! Ryan and I have a great time watching Jackson grow, laugh, talk and play - we can't wait for all the new things to come!

Jackson - 5 weeks old...

Jackson - 4 months old - now his shorts fit!

The most exciting thing this week was the introduction of solid foods! I first tried mixing rice cereal with water and he did pretty well for his first time. Then I tried formula and he was having none of that! Well, the third time MUST be a charm because I tried apple juice and I have never seen him get so excited! He was flapping his arms up and down, grabbing my hand with the spoon and his eyes couldn't have been any wider. Daddy was out surfing when we tried it yesterday so today Daddy was the one who fed him so he could see Jackson's reaction and how well he does.

PRICELESS!

Bath Time!

Jackson is really starting to like his baths and now that he puts EVERYTHING in his mouth, he just LOVES to take the cup from us and chew on it.

Trip to Minnesota

We had a great time in Minnesota and Jack got to meet his Great Grandpa and Grandma Huelskamp and Aunts, Uncles and Cousins :) We enjoyed the beautiful weather and of course playing cards!

Jackson and Mommy on the airplane... he is face down taking a nap. We were lucky because Jack was so good on both plane rides :)

What have we been up to?!

I know it's been a while so here are a few random pics from the last few weeks - starting with the most recent :) ENJOY!

We had a great time at Chaz and Joey's wedding this weekend while Grandma and Grandpa babysat Jack. As you can tell, he was pooped!

Jackson discovered TV! At first it was Fred Claus - he must take after me in the love of Christmas movies... and then we turned on his first Baby Mozart video and he LOVED it!! Does anyone else think he looks like Ryan when he watches tv?!?

Daddy was being silly and put a towel on Jack's head...

Here is one of Jackson's MANY Texas A&M shirts - WHOOP! He is playing in his jumper...

Uncle Kevin came over and had the magic touch to put Jackson right to sleep :)

While Daddy was at Chaz's Bachelor party weekend, I bought him a tray to go on his bumbo and he had so many toys, he didn't know what to do.

He eventually found one he could eat ;)

I caught him sucking his thumb... again taking after his Daddy!
